Johnny Huemmer gave up three hits and zero runs over six and two-thirds innings while walking three. Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen scored five runs in the sixth inning on the way to victory. Gage Welker was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Nolan Kuhnle drew a walk, scoring one run, Akeem Chester drew a walk, scoring one run, Noah Valdez drew a walk, scoring one run, and one run scored on another play. Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen got on the board in the top of the fifth inning after Akeem Chester singled down the right field line, South Bend Adams Freshman Eagles committed an error, Noah Valdez grounded out, and Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run. Rodgers stepped on the bump first for South Bend Adams Freshman Eagles. The starter gave up seven hits and four runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking two. Nolan Kuhnle appeared in relief for Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen. Gaeton Groninger and Dominic Fazio each collected two hits for Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen.
