Game Goes Down To The Wire As Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen Loses To Lowell Freshman On Final Play

By GameChanger Media Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen fell to Lowell Freshman 9-8 on Saturday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at eight in the bottom of the seventh when #18 singled, scoring one run. Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen lost despite out-hitting Lowell Freshman eight to five. Noah Valdez led Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen with two hits. Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen got on the board in the top of the fourth inning after Landon Rose singled to center field, Liam Summers singled down the left field line, and Carson Gorsuch hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. Lowell Freshman flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the seventh, scoring six runs on four hits to take the lead, 9-8. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by #14 that drove in two. #24 earned the win for Lowell Freshman. The hurler allowed four hits and five runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking four. Akeem Chester took the loss for Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen.
