By GameChanger Media Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen easily dispatched Goshen RedHawks on Friday at Mishawaka High School Ward Baker Park, 11-0. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen jumped out to the lead in the top of the third inning after Braedyn Smith tripled, scoring two runs, Will Hartzke singled, scoring one run, and one run scored on another play. Drew Ginter (3-0) earned the win for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking three. Bray Hoag took the loss for Goshen RedHawks. The right-handed pitcher went three innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on two hits, striking out four and walking three. Smith provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen with three runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-1 on the day. Hartzke, Kamdon Putz, and Smith each collected one hit for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. Shawn Nowacki paced Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying 11 walks for the game. Noah Deeds stole four bases. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen ran wild on the base paths, amassing eight stolen bases for the game. Jensen Meikle and Jaxon Miller were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Goshen RedHawks while hitting back-to-back. Goshen RedHawks turned one double play in the game.
