By GameChanger Media Carson Gorsuch collected three hits in four at bats, as Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen defeated Plymouth Freshman Pilgrims 7-4 on Thursday. Carson Gorsuch singled in the second inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the sixth inning. Plymouth Freshman Pilgrims were the first to get on the board in the second when an error scored one run. Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen took the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Liam Summers hit a sacrifice fly, Evan Dodd walked, Akeem Chester doubled, and Carson Gorsuch singled to center field, each scoring one run. Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Evan Dodd singled down the left field line, and Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen scored on a passed ball, each scoring one run. Carson Gorsuch earned the win for Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen. The pitcher surrendered seven hits and four runs (zero earned) over six and two-thirds innings, striking out nine and walking one. #15 took the loss for Plymouth Freshman Pilgrims. The hurler went four and one-third innings, allowing six runs (zero earned) on six hits, striking out three and walking two. Liam Summers, Carson Gorsuch, Noah Valdez, Evan Dodd, and Akeem Chester each drove in one run for Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen. Carson Gorsuch stole four bases. Mishawaka Freshman Cavemen stole eight bases in the game. #17 went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. #18 led Plymouth Freshman Pilgrims with two hits in three at bats.
