Varsity vs LaVille Jr-Sr High School In a very intense game yesterday the lady Cavemen traveled to Newton park for a non conference match up against LaVille. The ladies battled back and forth until the 17th minute When Junior Leah Thomas was sent a great pass by senior Genna Bultinck, putting the ball on the back of the net. Quickly the Lancers answered back with goal to match. Sophmore Millie Mammolenti wanting to keep the edge, broke free from the defense putting the game up 2-1 at Halftime. The ladies came out at half time a bit flat footed and let the Lancers even the score with in the first two minutes of the second half. Genna Bultinck not wanting her last competition against the Lancers to be one of defeat served the ball to Millie Mammolenti to keep the Cavemen lead. Lancers again answered back but lost the lead with an “own” goal credited to Millie Mammolenti and finally Leah Thomas sealing the deal toward the end of the game making the score 5-3. Junior Khloe Hersey Had 8 saves and deflected a penalty kick during the second half. Khloe had a very physical match up being kicked in the face and kicked multiple times while defending the goal yet still managed to continue playing, walking off with a smile on her face.
