The Mishawaka Girls JV soccer team opened the 2024 season Tuesday night against Goshen. Limited to just 11 players, the Lady Cavemen battled the Redhawks without substitutions for 70 minutes but lost by a score of 6-0. The effort and positive attitude shown by this young team was remarkable. Six freshmen made their high school debut against the traditional soccer powerhouse Goshen and kept the game very close until midway through the second half when fatigue and heavy legs became overwhelming. With only five days to learn a new position, junior, LeeAna Damp started her first game ever as a goalkeeper and recorded 20 saves on 31 Goshen shots. The Lady Cavemen return to action Thursday night when they travel to Concord for a 5pm start. -Coach Michael Bultinck- Jv Head Coach
