MISHAWAKA HIGH SCHOOL VS IHSAA SECTIONAL 35 66 Team 1 2 3 4 Mishawaka High School 4 13 6 12 IHSAA Sectional 20 14 22 10 Friday night the Lady Cavemen took on a very talented Washington team with plenty of size and quickness. The Lady Cavemen got off to a slow start and the Panthers were able to jump out to a double digit lead very quickly. After the first quarter, the Lady Cavemen found themselves down 20-4, but this group of young ladies displayed great heart and effort and continued to compete in the 2nd quarter, and caused multiple turnovers and at one point, cut the lead down to 9. Unfortunately the Panthers size and pressure continued to make it tough on the Lady Cavemen and they trailed by 17 at the half. To start the 2nd half, the Panthers continued to put the pressure on the Lady Cavemen and increased their lead to 20+ within minutes in the 3rd. Eventhough the Lady Cavemen were outmatched, this team didn’t quit, and they competed to the end and unfortunately lost 66-35. The Lady Cavemen were lead by seniors Asiah Shaffer with 12 points and Kasha Davidovic with 11 points. This group of young ladies continued to compete and respresent Mishawaka High School with great pride throughout this season. A Special Thanks goes out to our Seniors, Addy Brugh, Kasha Davidovic, and Asiah Shaffer, as they have been an important part of the change in the competeiveness culture within this Lady Cavemen program. The Mishawaka Girls Basketball program has had 3 consectitive seasons with double digit winning seasons, 11 this season! They have put their hearts into this program and they will be missed. Thank You Seniors! Until next Year… By Chadd Blasko on Feb 3, 2024
