MISHAWAKA HIGH SCHOOL VS IHSAA REGIONAL VS EAST CENTRAL CHICAGO 68 52 Team 1 2 3 4 Mishawaka High School 18 11 23 16 IHSAA Regional vs East Central Chicago 9 7 17 19 Mishawaka entered the Michigan City Regional playing on a high. After a big Sectional Championship win over South Bend Riley, the Cavemen looked to continue their winning ways against East Chicago Central. Mishawaka jumped out to an 18-9 lead after one and never looked back. The Cavemen were dominating on both ends of the floor getting just about whatever shot they wanted on the offensive end and then making it very tough on Cardinals, on the defensive end, holding them to 1 and done most of the game. The Cavemen shot 53% from the field and out rebounded East Chicago Central by a wide margin. The only negative was Mishawaka’s ability to make free throws in which they shot 51%. For the first time since 1955 the Cavemen win the Regional Title and will move on to the Semi-State, at Elkhart’s North Side Gym, next Saturday where they will play Ft. Wayne Wayne in the semi-final game at 11:45 AM. Crown Point and #1 Fishers will face off in the first at 10 AM. Get your tickets early as a packed house is expected! By Bodie Bender on Mar 15, 2024
