Mishawaka JV Baseball Falls to Valparaiso

Valpo scored two unearned runs in the third inning to take the lead for good. Grant McFarden hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth for the Vikings. Zach Troxel earned the win for Valpo. The right-handed pitcher gave up zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking none. Jack Taylor took the loss for Mishawaka. The righty went four innings, surrendering three runs (one earned) on six hits, striking out five and walking two. Kole Neace had a single in the top of the seventh for Mishawaka’s first hit of the game. Brady Francis followed that hit up with an RBI triple. The Vikings had nine hits in the game. Michael Reeves, Nathan Simpson, and McFarden each collected two hits. Valpo stole four bases, turned one double play and did not commit an error in the field.
