MHS Girl’s Varsity Softball Wins at Plymouth 14 – 2

MISHAWAKA HIGH SCHOOL VS PLYMOUTH HIGH SCHOOL 14 2 Team 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 R H E Mishawaka High School 0 0 7 1 2 4 0 14 17 2 Plymouth High School 0 1 0 1 0 0 0 2 6 3 A 7-run top of the third erased an early 1-0 deficit as the Lady Cavemen Softball team opened defense of their Northern Lakes Conference crown with a 14-2 win at Centennial Park Monday night over host Plymouth. MHS pounded out 17 hits to earn the six inning victory. Lilly St Clair, who pitched the final 2 innings, went 5 for 5 at the plate. Khloe Hershey had 3-hits, including a single, a double off the fence and a towering 3-run homerun totalling 6 RBI’s to pace the Mishawaka offense. Cassie Connell, Holly Shine and Sophia Hoover each added a pair of hits while Brynn Lewinski and Olivia Bultinck each scored 3-runs. Junior Camilla Ramirez-Quijada earned the win in the circle, tossing 5 innings, giving up only 2-runs while striking out 7 Pilgrims. With the win, the Lady Cavemen even their overall record at 4-4 and 1-0 in NLC play. Next action for MHS is Tuesday evening at South Bend Saint Joseph. By Brian Miller on Apr 16, 2024
