Cavemen Lose A Close One To Penn 4-3

The Kingsmen scored one run on a single in the first inning to start things off. The Cavemen got on the board in the top of the first inning after Will Hartzke tripled, scoring two runs, and Gage Spychalski grounded out, scoring one run. The Kingsmen made the score 4-3 in the bottom of the second after Payton Horner grounded out, scoring two runs, and Hunter Morrett singeld, scoring one run. Tommy Harringer (2-1) earned the win for Penn. The righty surrendered three hits and three runs over six innings, striking out two and walking four. Colton Handley (0-1) took the loss for the Cavemen. The starting pitcher went six innings, allowing four runs (one earned) on five hits, striking out one and walking three. Penn’s Dawson French earned the save. Hartzke drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Cavemen with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Trey DeBroka, Cooper Pritchett, and Hartzke each collected one hit for the Cavemen. RJ Cromartie led Penn with two hits in three at bats. Morrett stole two bases.
