Starting pitcher Desiree Couve’ got her first win in the circle allowing only 2 hits and a run with 5 strikeouts and no walks in 3 innings of work. Her offense gave her plenty of breathing room plating 5 runs in the bottom of 1st and then 8 more runs in the 2nd inning to take control of this game. The Maroons clubbed 17 hits including 8 doubles, led by Karmen Frazier, Khloe Hershey and Holly Shine who each had 3-hits. Shine also had 3-RBI’s while scoring 3 runs. Brynn Lewinski added a pair of hits and a pair of walks, along with scoring three times. With the win, MHS improves to 8-4 overall. The Lady Cavemen stand alone at the top of the Northern Lakes Conference standings with a 4-0 record. Mishawaka plays the two teams tied for 2nd in the NLC in their next two games. Wednesday at NorthWood and Friday at Northridge. Both the Panthers and Raiders are 3-1 in league play. By Brian Miller on Apr 22, 2024
