Cavemen Varsity Falls to Northridge 4-1

Northridge got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Brecken Gawthrop singled, and Jack Urbanski hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. JT Tabor (2-1) earned the win for the Raiders. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out four and walking four. Brady Gallo (3-1) took the loss for the Cavemen. He went five and one-third innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on four hits, striking out two and walking six. Tyler Thomas led the Cavemen with one run batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-2 on the day. Will Hartzke led the Cavemen with two hits in three at bats. The Cavemen turned one double play in the game. Urbanski led Northridge with three runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Max Horner went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Northridge with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. The Cavemen drop to 7-5 and 4-2 in the NLC. Their next matchup is Saturday as the team travels to Niles in a single game against the Vikings starting at 11:00. Copyright 2024 GameChanger Media, Inc.
