The game was played at NorthWood due to wet field conditions at Warsaw Community High School as MHS won their seventh game in a row to improve their mark in the Northern Lakes Conference to 6-0. The Lady Cavemen tallied 7-runs in the second inning. Olivia Bultinck’s 2-RBI double put Mishawaka on the scoreboard. Brynn Lewinski added an RBI single followed by back-to-back bases loaded walks to put the visitors in the driver’s seat. Mishawaka added a pair of runs in the 4th on a 2-run inside the park homerun by Desiree Couve’. The junior would knock home 2 more runs in the top of the 5th when the Maroons added five runs to their lead. Couve’ finished the night with 5-RBI’s. Khloe Hershey added a pair of walks, a single and a triple as the Lady Cavmen picked up theiir 10th win of the season. Mishawaka travels to Middlebury Tuesday to face NLC-rival Northridge at 5:30pm. The two teams will complete a suspended game from last Friday. MHS and Northridge were scoreless after 2-innings. While MHS leads the NLC conference, the Raiders are in second place in the standings with a mark of 5-1. The Lady Cavemen will then play Plymouth Wednesday at Bethel University before hosting Wawasee Thursday at Baker Park. By Brian Miller on Apr 29, 2024
