Warsaw Varsity Tigers Take Down Varsity Cavemen A Little At A Time

The Tigers got on the board in the first inning after Hunter Dippon singled, scoring two runs. The Tigers added one run in the third after Dippon doubled. Brandt Martin (4-1) earned the win for the Tigers. The starting pitcher allowe three hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out four and walking two. Trey DeBroka (1-2) took the loss for the Cavemen. The starting pitcher went six innings, surrendering five runs (four earned) on seven hits, striking out six and walking five. Kamdon Putz, DeBroka, and Drew Ginter each collected one hit for the Cavemen. Warsaw tallied nine hits in the game. Dippon provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Tigers with three runs batted in. The infielder went 3-for-3 on the day. Grady Nelson collected two hits for the Tigers in two at bats. The Tigers were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Cohen Heady had the most chances in the field with six. After tonight’s loss the Cavevmen are 7-7 on the season and 4-3 in the NLC. The team’s next matchup is against Plymouth at Bill Nixon Field at 5:30. Copyright 2024 GameChanger Media, Inc.
