MHS Softball Defeats Northridge 4 – 0

The game was completed Tuesday night in Middlebury after the two teams played in less than ideal weather Friday night. The game was halted after 2-innings Friday. In MHS’s opening at bat Tuesday, the Lady Cavemen scored a pair of runs on a 2-out, 2-RBI double by Khloe Hershey. Mishawaka added two more runs in the fourth. Lilly Hanback and Kallahan Steinman each singled, advanced on a double-steal before Cassie Connell roped a line drive to deep right field that gave Cavemen pitcher Camila Ramirez-Quijada all the support she would need. The junior ace allowed only one hit, while picking up her 6th win of the season. Ramirez-Quijada fanned 13 Raiders while walking only two. Olivia Bultinck was the only player with 2 hits. With the win, the Maroons imrprove to 7-0 in the Northern Lakes Conference, 11-4 overall. Next action for the MHS Softball Varsity team will be Wednesday at 5:30pm versus Plymouth.
