Mishawaka C-Team Victorious Over South Bend Adams in Game One of C-Team Tournament

South Bend Adams Freshman Eagles jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Aiden Holbert doubled, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs. Chase Semak singled, which helped Mishawaka Cavemen C Team tie the game at three in the bottom of the third. In the top of the fifth, South Bend AdamsFreshman Eagles broke up the tie when Jonathan Cobos singled, scoring one run. an error followed to extend the lead to 5-3. Mishawaka Cavemen C Team flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fifth, scoring six runs on three hits to take a 9-5 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a walk by C Shepley that drove in one. Jackson Chlebek earned the win for Mishawaka Cavemen C Team. They allowed six hits and five runs (zero earned) over six innings, striking out nine and walking two. David Ascanio Monsalve took the loss for South Bend Adams Freshman Eagles. The right-handed pitcher went one and one-third innings, giving up four runs on two hits, striking out two and walking six. James Seitz stepped on the mound first for South Bend Adams Freshman Eagles. The left-handed pitcher surrendered five hits and three runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking two. Mishawaka Cavemen C Team accumulated nine hits in the game. David Sorensen and Gavin Franks each collected two hits for Mishawaka Cavemen C Team. Aiden Rogers, Alex Demaegd, Liam Hacker, and David Sorensen each drove in one run for Mishawaka Cavemen C Team. Mishawaka Cavemen C Team had patience at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game. Aiden Rogers, Liam Hacker, and Corin Shepley led the team with two bases on balls each. Anthony Gubi and Aiden Holbert were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for South Bend Adams Freshman Eagles while hitting back-to-back. Jonathan Cobos and Aiden Holbert each drove in one run for South Bend Adams Freshman Eagles. Kane Miller stole two bases.
