Goshen Varsity Redhawks opened the scoring in the first after Kyan Miller singled, scoring one run. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen took the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Shawn Nowacki singled, and Cooper Pritchett singled, each scoring one run. Goshen Varsity Redhawks made the score 4-2 in the top of the fourth after Karter Marcum singled, scoring two runs, and Trey DeBroka induced Jace Hershberger to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored. DeBroka doubled, which helped Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen tie the game at four in the bottom of the seventh. Alex Boehman earned the win for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. The reliever surrendered zero hits and zero runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out none and walking none. Quinn Shreiner Landes took the loss for Goshen Varsity Redhawks. The reliever went one-third of an inning, surrendering two runs on two hits, striking out one and walking none. DeBroka stepped on the bump first for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and four runs over six and one-third innings, striking out seven and walking three. Miller stepped on the hill first for Goshen Varsity Redhawks. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and three runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out four and walking two. Leadoff hitter Nowacki led Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen with two hits in four at bats. Kamdon Putz, DeBroka, Nowacki, and Pritchett each drove in one run for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. Drew Ginter stole two bases. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen ran wild on the base paths, accumulating five stolen bases for the game. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen turned one double play in the game. Marcum led Goshen Varsity Redhawks with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. They went 1-for-3 on the day. Shreiner Landes, Miller, Colton Rapp, Damian Castillo, Caelan Miller, and Marcum each collected one hit for Goshen Varsity Redhawks.
