Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen opened the scoring in the bottom of the first thanks to two singles. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen first got on the board when DeBroka singled, scoring one run. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Will Hartzke singled, and Concord committed an error, each scoring one run. Concord scored six runs on seven hits in the top of the seventh inning. Mark Herman doubled, scoring two runs, Braedon Messenger singled, scoring one run, Garrett Stewart singled, scoring one run, and Emanuel Rosa singled, scoring two runs. Colton Handley (1-1) earned the win for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. The starting pitcher surrendered 11 hits and seven runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking two. Jesus Esparza took the loss for Concord. They went two innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on three hits, striking out three and walking five. Alex Jimenez opened the game for Concord. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and four runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen accumulated 11 hits in the game. Cooper Pritchett drove the middle of the lineup, leading Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen with three runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Tyler Thomas and Hartzke each collected two hits for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. DeBroka paced Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. DeBroka and Shawn Nowacki each stole multiple bases for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen ran wild on the base paths, accumulating seven stolen bases for the game. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Kamdon Putz made the most plays with five. Concord tallied 11 hits in the game. Herman seized on their opportunities, leading Concord with two runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The center fielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Noah Norwood, Rosa, and Herman each collected two hits for Concord. The Cavemen extend their winning streak to 5 games.
