Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen Loses Despite Out Hitting NorthWood Panthers

Trey DeBroka and Tyler Thomas each collected two hits for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. A hit by a pitch put Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen on the board in the top of the third. Connor Reed singled, which helped NorthWood Panthers tie the game at one in the bottom of the third. A sacrifice fly by Shawn Nowacki gave Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen the lead, 2-1, in the top of the fourth. NorthWood Panthers took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. Carson Mashack doubled, scoring three runs, to give NorthWood Panthers the leg up, 4-2. Mason Bogan earned the win for NorthWood Panthers. The lefty surrendered five hits and two runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out three and walking four. Brady Gallo took the loss for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. The starting pitcher went six innings, surrendering four runs on six hits, striking out eight and walking three. Thomas and Nowacki each drove in one run for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. Thomas stole two bases. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen ran wild on the base paths, accumulating four stolen bases for the game. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen didn’t commit a single error in the field. Kamdon Putz had the most chances in the field with nine. Mashack went 2-for-3 at the plate as the outfielder led the team with three runs batted in.
