Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen Loses Despite Out Hitting New Prairie

Cooper Pritchett, Shawn Nowacki, and Gage Spychalski each collected two hits for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. New Prairie opened the scoring in the first after Tyson Greenwood singled, scoring one run. Nowacki stole home, which helped Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen tie the game at one in the bottom of the first. A single by Tyler Thomas gave Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the second. New Prairie flipped the game on its head in the top of the sixth, scoring eight runs on three hits to take a 9-3 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Greenwood that drove in three. Joe Kinney earned the win for New Prairie. They gave up nine hits and three runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out six and walking two. Brady Gallo took the loss for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. They went five innings, surrendering seven runs (six earned) on three hits, striking out five and walking six. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen accumulated nine hits in the game. Thomas led Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen with one run batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Greenwood drove the middle of the lineup, leading New Prairie with three runs batted in. The first baseman went 2-for-4 on the day. New Prairie had patience at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Jordan Davis and Traxler Brody led the team with two free passes each. Beau Kmzecik stole two bases.
