MHS Finishes Perfect NLC Season, Beats Northridge 3 – 0

NORTHRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL VS MISHAWAKA HIGH SCHOOL 0 3 Team 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 R H E Northridge High School 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2 2 Mishawaka High School 0 0 0 0 1 2 0 3 5 1 The Mishawaka Girls Varsity Softball team celebrated Senior Day with a 3-0 win over Northridge to wrap up a perfect Northern Lakes Conference campaign, winning all 14 league games to finish undefeated in NLC play for the second straight year. Junior pitcher Camila Ramirez-Quijada was outstanding in the circle allowing only 2 hits, while striking out 14 Raiders as she improved her record to 13-2, with 8 wins coming in NLC play. Mishawaka broke a scoreless tie with a run in the bottom of the 5th as senior Cassie Connell drove home Lilly Hanback with a 2-out RBI single to left field. The Lady Cavemen would add 2 insurance runs in the 6th. After Karmen Frazier singled and Khloe Hershey walked, pinch runner Lynnaya West and Holly Shine would score as Brynn Lewinski’s ground ball up the middle would result in a 2-run throwing error to make it 3-0 lead. With the win, their 19th in a row, Mishawaka wraps up the regular season with a mark of 22-4. Next action for MHS will be Tuesday night May 21 in the Class 4A Sectional hosted by Adams at Potawatomi Park in South Bend.
