Lady Cavemen Open Sectional With 16 – 0 Win Over MC

The game was the nightcap of the opening night doubleheader in the IHSAA Class 4A Sectional Softball tournament hosting by South Bend Adams. Winning pitcher Lilly St Clair held the Wolves in check, allowing only a 1st inning double, with no walks and 8 strikeouts in 4 innings of work. Grace Matherly pitched a scoreless 5th inning as Mishawaka won their 20th consecutive game. Offensively, the Maroons pounded out 16 hits, 8 of which were for extra bases. Karmen Frazier led the way with 3-hits, including a pair of triples and four RBI’s. Kallahan Steinman also had 3-hits. Senior Olivia Bultinck had 2 hits and scored 3 runs as MHS improved their overall record to 23-4. Next action for the Lady Cavemen will be Wednesday night at 7:30pm in Sectional Semi-final play versus LaPorte. By Brian Miller on May 22, 2024
