Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen Claw Back, But Fall Just Short Against Warsaw May 20, 2026 vs. Warsaw Despite a 5-run deficit in the third inning, Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen almost came all the way back, eventually falling 6-4 to Warsaw on Wednesday at Warsaw Community High School. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen closed the gap by scoring on a single, a sacrifice fly, a ground out, and an error. Warsaw jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Miller drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, and Love singled, scoring one run. Warsaw added one run in the third after Love singled to right field. Shaw earned the win for Warsaw. The starter surrendered three hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out four and walking four. Johns took the loss for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. The starting pitcher went five innings, surrendering five runs (four earned) on five hits, striking out three and walking six. Brock earned the save. Handley and Demaegd each collected two hits for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. Demaegd and Ginter were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. Rogers led Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Miller led Warsaw with three hits in three at bats.
