May 16, 2026 vs. Elkhart Lions JV Ecker drove in four runs on three hits to lead Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen past Elkhart Lions JV 14-2 on Saturday at Elkhart High School - West Campus. Ecker doubled in the fourth inning, scoring two runs, and singled in the fifth inning, scoring two. Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Chlebek singled, scoring one run, and Huemmer doubled, scoring two runs. Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen added one run in the second after Chlebek flew out. A single by Darnell, a walk by Franks, and a double by Chlebek helped Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen extend their early lead in the third. Darnell earned the win for Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking six. Barber-Habic took the loss for Elkhart Lions JV. The southpaw went four innings, surrendering 10 runs (nine earned) on 12 hits, striking out one and walking five. Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen collected 15 hits in the game. Huemmer, Darnell, Valdez, and Semak each collected multiple hits for Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen. Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen had patience at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game. Gorsuch and Franks led the team with two free passes each.
