Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Meyer singled to center field, Hacker tripled to left field, Francis grounded out, and Putz doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Ginter tripled down the left field line, and Deeds hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. Kuhnle (1-1) earned the win for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. The hurler gave up three hits and two runs over five innings, striking out three and walking two. Huser took the loss for Fairfield. The starting pitcher went three innings, giving up six runs on five hits, striking out two and walking two.
