May 9, 2026 vs. Chesterton Mishawaka Cavemen C-Team had trouble keeping up with Chesterton in a 12-1 loss on Saturday at Mishawaka High School Ward Baker Park. Chesterton got on the board in the top of the first inning after Hilzey doubled down the left field line, and Chesterton scored on a passed ball, each scoring one run. A single by Goad extended the Chesterton lead to 4-0 in the top of the second inning. Chesterton scored five runs on three hits in the top of the seventh inning. McGary drew a walk, scoring one run, Winkoff doubled, scoring two runs, Jarosak drew a walk, scoring one run, and a wild pitch scored one run. McDougal earned the win for Chesterton. The pitcher surrendered three hits and one run over five and one-third innings, striking out four and walking five. Cochran took the loss for Mishawaka Cavemen C-Team. The righty went six and one-third innings, allowing 11 runs (seven earned) on 13 hits, striking out three and walking four. Forslund went 1-for-1 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Gramza, Mishawaka Cavemen C-Team's number nine hitter, led the team with two hits in two at-bats. Mishawaka Cavemen C-Team turned one double play in the game. Chesterton piled up 13 hits in the game. Hilzey led Chesterton with three hits in five at bats. Jarosak and Winkoff each drove in two runs for Chesterton. Goad collected two hits for Chesterton in four at bats. Larson stole three bases.
