Bats Stymied For Both Teams As Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen Loses To La Porte Slicers JV

May 7, 2026 vs. La Porte Slicers JV Lightning and rain ended the game after four and a half innings. Both teams were strong on the mound on Thursday, but LaPorte Slicers JV was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 2-1 victory over Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen. Gorsuch started the game for Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen and recorded 12 outs. LaPorte Slicers JV got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Splix singled down the right field line, and Darrell walked, each scoring one run. Mitchell earned the win for LaPorte Slicers JV. The right-handed pitcher allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out five and walking none. Gorsuch took the loss for Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen. The lefty went four innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out five and walking two. Valdez, Semak, and Chlebek each collected one hit for Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen. Semak led Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen with one run batted in. The right fielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Huemmer made the most plays with five. Splix went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Mitchell, Splix, and Proffitt each collected one hit for LaPorte Slicers JV. Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen will travel to Wawasee Junior Varsity Warriors for their next game on Friday.
