Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen Defeat Plymouth Behind Strong Performance From Johns May 6, 2026 vs. Plymouth Johns struck out 12 batters as the hurler led Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen past Plymouth 7-4 on Wednesday at Bill Nixon Field. Johns surrendered five hits and four runs over seven innings while walking one. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen were the first to get on the board in the first when Pyle singled, scoring one run. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen added one run in the third after Handley was struck by a pitch. Hall homered to left field, which helped Plymouth tie the game at two in the bottom of the third. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen took the lead in the top of the fourth inning after Plymouth committed an error, Deeds hit a sacrifice fly, Putz singled down the left field line, and Demaegd walked, each scoring one run. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Putz had the most chances in the field with 12. Hall drove the middle of the lineup, leading Plymouth with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Feece, Metsker, Hall, Wolfe, and Cain each collected one hit for Plymouth. Plymouth turned one double play in the game. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen (11-3, NLC 6-2) play at home on Thursday against LaPorte Slicer Varsity in their next game.
