Darnell Has Lots Of Hits But Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen Fall To Northridge Junior Varsity Raiders

May 1, 2026 vs. Northridge Junior Varsity Raiders Darnell collected three hits in five at bats, but Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen lost to Northridge Junior Varsity Raiders 14-9 on Friday at Northridge Middle School. Darnell doubled in the first inning, singled in the sixth inning, and singled in the fifth inning. A single by Chlebek put Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen on the board in the top of the first. Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen flipped the game on its head in the top of the sixth, scoring six runs on four hits to take the lead, 9-7. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Chlebek that drove in two. Northridge Junior Varsity Raiders flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the sixth, scoring seven runs on three hits to take the lead, 14-9. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Graber that drove in two. Meyer earned the win for Northridge Junior Varsity Raiders. The right-handed pitcher surrendered four hits and six runs (five earned) over two innings, striking out two and walking four. Mercado took the loss for Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen. The pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, surrendering seven runs (five earned) on four hits, striking out six and walking six. Chlebek stepped on the mound first for Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen. The right-handed pitcher gave up six hits and seven runs (five earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out one and walking six. Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen collected 10 hits in the game. Chlebek drove the middle of the lineup, leading Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 3-for-3 on the day. Darnell and Chlebek each collected three hits for Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen. Aldrich and Duncan led the team with three walks each. Hile and Graber each stole multiple bases for Northridge Junior Varsity Raiders. Northridge Junior Varsity Raiders ran wild on the base paths, accumulating five stolen bases for the game.
