Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen got on the board in the first inning after Johns hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Wawasee committed an error, Francis singled down the left field line, Deeds hit a sacrifice fly, and Demaegd doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen scored one run in the bottom of the third on a solo home run to left field by Putz. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. Putz drew a walk, scoring one run, Rogers singled, scoring one run, Francis was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Ginter singled, scoring one run.
