Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen Falls To Plymouth Junior Varsity Pilgrims

April 20, 2026 vs. Plymouth Junior Varsity Pilgrims Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen lost to Plymouth Junior Varsity Pilgrims 7-4 on Monday at Mishawaka High School Ward Baker Park. A fly out by Scott put Plymouth Junior Varsity Pilgrims on the board in the top of the third. Huemmer walked, which helped Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen tie the game at one in the bottom of the third. In the top of the fourth, Plymouth Junior Varsity Pilgrims broke up the tie when Cain doubled, scoring two runs. Then an error followed to extend the lead to 4-1. Cain earned the win for Plymouth Junior Varsity Pilgrims. The right-handed pitcher surrendered three hits and one run over four innings, striking out four and walking three. Huemmer took the loss for Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen. The hurler went four and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs (four earned) on five hits, striking out seven and walking four. Mercado led Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen with two hits in four at bats. Darnell and Ecker each drove in one run for Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen. Gorsuch stole three bases. Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen stole six bases in the game. Cain provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Plymouth Junior Varsity Pilgrims with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Gantz led Plymouth Junior Varsity Pilgrims with two hits in four at bats. Gantz stole two bases.
