Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen With Tough Game Against Valparaiso Junior Varsity Vikings April 11, 2026 vs. Valparaiso Junior Varsity Vikings Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen had trouble keeping up with Valparaiso Junior Varsity Vikings in a 13-3 loss on Saturday at Valparaiso High School. A steal of home by Chester put Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen on the board in the top of the second. Valparaiso Junior Varsity Vikings made the score 3-1 in the bottom of the second after Galindo singled, scoring one run, and Henry doubled, scoring two runs. Valparaiso Junior Varsity Vikings extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Mulcahy and Morris. Valparaiso Junior Varsity Vikings scored six runs on six hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Rosado singled, scoring one run, Morris singled, scoring two runs, Hedrick doubled, scoring one run, and Henry singled, scoring two runs. Opperman earned the win for Valparaiso Junior Varsity Vikings. The pitcher gave up one hit and three runs over three and one-third innings, striking out seven and walking three. Chlebek took the loss for Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen. The pitcher went three innings, surrendering five runs (four earned) on nine hits, striking out three and walking two. Fazio and Valdez each collected one hit for Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen. Cochran led Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen with two runs batted in. Chester and Darnell each stole multiple bases for Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen. Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen stole five bases in the game. Valparaiso Junior Varsity Vikings tallied 17 hits in the game. Valparaiso Junior Varsity Vikings's Morris, the number seven hitter, led Valparaiso Junior Varsity Vikings with four hits in four at bats.
