Mishawaka vs Westview Game 1 Varsity vs Westview Jr-Sr High School (4 - 2) Win By GameChanger Media Drew Ginter struck out 14 batters as the starting pitcher led Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen past Westview 4-2 on Saturday. Ginter surrendered two hits and two runs over seven innings while walking three. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen were the first to get on the board in the third when Landon Johns grounded out, scoring one run. Jaxson Christner took the loss for Westview. The pitcher went one and two-thirds innings, giving up one run on two hits, striking out one and walking one. Elijah Zolman opened the game for Westview. The pitcher surrendered one hit and three runs (one earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out eight and walking four. Noah Deeds, Jayden Pyle, and Ginter each collected one hit for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. Kamdon Putz, Deeds, and Pyle each drove in one run for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. Deeds and Aiden Rogers each stole multiple bases for Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen ran wild on the base paths, piling up seven stolen bases for the game. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Putz made the most plays with 14. Zolman and Blake Hostetler were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Westview while hitting back-to-back. Zolman and Hostetler were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Westview. Mishawaka Varsity Cavemen play at home on Saturday against Westview in their next game.
