The Cavemen took the long drive before sunrise to Syracuse to play in the NLC tournament at South Shore Golf Course. The Cavemen slept through the 1st 9 holes. As the temps rose and the sun broke through the clouds the Cavemen started to get going. Lillian Stone and Sabrina Line both improved by 3 strokes on their 2nd nine. Lillian fired a career best 115. Claire Braniff improved 9 strokes on her 2nd nine holes to shoot her personal best, 113. Junior, Grace Vandenburg stole the show again though. After firing a 52 on her first 9 holes, she started the 2nd nine with an eagle putt that bounced off the flagstick. Building off that opening birdie, Grace came in 10 strokes better on the 2nd nine with a 42, and 94 total. Grace’s 94 was good enough for 13th place in a tough NLC field. The awards continued for Grace as she was voted by the coaches to the NLC All-Conference Honorable Mention team. The season does not end for the Cavemen. The Cavemen will spend the week preparing for Sectional which take place at Knollwood Country Club this Friday.
