Mishawaka Cavemen Varsity snagged a late lead and defeated Niles 8-5 on Saturday. Mishawaka Cavemen Varsity trailed 5-4 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Jordan Watford tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.
Niles scored six runs in the third inning, but Mishawaka Cavemen Varsity still managed to pull out the victory. The offensive firepower by Niles was led by Cade Vota, Chase Lotsbaich, Gage Vota, and Jude Abbadessa, all driving in runs in the frame.
In the first inning, Mishawaka Cavemen Varsity got their offense started when Milan Burris grounded out, scoring one run.
