The Cavemen came into another NIC game looking to springboard into the sectionals. This was a game of possessions. Back and forth the Cavemen and the Panthers took turns with the lead. The Cavemen had a 1-point lead in the final seconds of the 2nd quarter, but a 3-point buzzer beater gave the Panthers a 2 point lead at halftime. That crucial bucket became valuable later in the contest. In the second half, Washington maintained a steady 1-6 point lead, until the Cavemen broke through with consecutive good possessions on both offense and defense to take a 1-point lead with 2:44 left in the game. The Cavemen couldn’t extend the lead, and allowed the Panthers to go on a 10-5 run to end the game 64-60. Top scorers for the Cavemen were AJ Rosebush with 14, and Donovan Snyder with 12. The Cavemen now sit at 9-9 with a contest at John Glenn on Friday night at 7:30.
