Cavemen News · First Class Experience at Four Winds Field

Mishawaka fans and players were treated to a first class professional baseball experience on April 22nd when the Cavemen and Penn squared off.   Over 900 fans saw the Kingsmen came out on top in both the JV and Varsity,   but there were many victories to be proud of.

Mishawaka Schools Director of Operations Mike Faulkner threw out the first pitch.  He was joinedon the field by members of his crew who all play a significant role in helping Mishawaka Athletics:  Ken Kahlenbeck (Transportation Director, Michelle Workman, Bob Berndt (MHS Football), Fuzz Dill (Baker Park), Devin Luccki (Baker Park), Jim Flatt (East Gym “Cave”) and Brian Reynolds (West Gym) .

Singing a beautiful rendition of the national anthem from the Mishawaka Choral Department were; Victoria Tiller, Aislin Bailey, Gracey Lovitt, Kylie Blake, Reahlynn Bryce, Lynnea Means, and Kathryn Hartley.

“This was a great experience for our players, coaches and fans,” said Mishawaka Director of Athletics Dean Huppert.  We can’t thank the South Bend Cubs, General Manager Nick Brown and Director of Media and Promotions Chris Hagstrom-Jones enough.  They made this a community event that everyone will remember for a long time.”

The Cavemen would also like to give a special thanks to Mishawaka Sports Marketing Specialist Bruce Quick.  “Bruce came on as an intern at MHS when he was a student a few years ago.  He basically ran this event with the help of the SB Cubs.  It was impressive to see the organization and attention to detail.  He was on top of the ticket sales, programs, graphics, commercials and game night lineup.  We hope to be able to do more events like this in the future.”
