Cavemen News · Mishawaka Fall Awards Will Be Online

The Mishawaka Fall Awards will be online this year.  Because of rising COVID numbers in St. Joseph County, the athletic department has decided to limit in person contact by having the big portion of the awards on CavemenSports.com.  “We looked at a number of different options including splitting up the sports and putting a cap on the number of guests who could be invited,” said Mishawaka Director of Athletics Dean Huppert.   “While we want to honor the hard work of our student athletes, getting a bunch of people together in The Cave at this time just didn’t make sense.  Teams may still have their own award nights, but the big gathering isn’t going to happen this season.”

The scheduled in person date was this Wednesday, but now the online show will be Monday November 23rd.  “This is going to be a little different, but it will still give our coaches a chance to brag about their kids and talk about the great memories created the past few months.”   The awards program will honor scholar athletes, All Conference winners, Academic All-State honorees, and each coach will talk about the prestigious Frank M. Steele Award winner.  For more information, call or text (574) 255-1300.
