Cavemen News · Mishawaka Goes for History in Sectional Championship – Coach Kinder Interview

The Mishawaka Football team is in the sectional championship tonight at School Field.   The Cavemen are hoping for their 3rd straight Sectional Championship.  If they can beat the Eagles, it will be the first time in school history  the Maroons have won 3 straight.  (The current format of the tournament started in 1985.)   Besides this year, Mishawaka has won two straight in 1990-91, 2009-10, 2012-13,  and 2015-16.

Coach Kinder and the Cavemen won a share of the Northern Lakes Conference last week with a 45-6 win over Goshen in the first round of the Sectional.   Mishawaka started the season 0-3, but has reeled off 6 straight victories.  Tonight’s game has a limitation on fans because of COVID restrictions.  Mishawaka was allotted 250 tickets for fans, and those seats on the visitors side have sold out.   You can watch the game on the Mishawaka Network at:   You can also listen on 96.1 FM WSBT Radio.  Kickoff is set for 7 pm in South Bend at School Field.
