Mishawaka led 14-6 at halftime and went on to beat Plymouth 39-30 at the Rock Pile. The Cavemen took control in the 3rd quarter and played a solid game as they got their first ever win in the Northern Lakes Conference. The Rockies scored two late touchdowns against some of less experienced players in Maroon.
“It feels like Christmas”, said Mishawaka Quarterback Justin Fisher. Senior Running Back Drew Mason, “It feels good to get our first win since the Elkhart Sectional game last year. It’s going to be a fun bus ride home.” Mishawaka improves to 3-1 on the season. The Cavemen got a solid effort from Chaz Hardy who ran hard and caught a pass for a two point conversion. “We feel good with the ball in his hands”, said Coach Keith Kinder. “We’re looking forward to coming home next week and honoring the seniors.
Mishawaka hosts Concord at 7 pm. Football and Cheerleading seniors will be honored on Senior Night before the game. Band and Dance Seniors will have recognition at halftime. Tickets will only be sold online. Participants families can purchase tickets with a code from Saturday until Tuesday. Tickets for the general public go on sale on Hometown Ticketing Wednesday morning.
