2019 Cavemen Baseball Season Recap

Program Season Recap

Freshmen record 7-9-1

JV record 14-6

Varsity record 25-7. Second most wins in school history for season

Varsity conference record 10-2. Finished tied for 2nd place with St. Joe overall and finished 3rd (3-2) in North Division. St. Joe tied Penn (11-1) with 5-1 record.

Won Regional games 7-0 over Northridge and 2-0 over Lake Central. Second regional championship in school history.

Team wins sectionals 3 out of 4 last years since breaking away from sectionals with Penn. 5 players will be the only players in Cavemen Baseball History to win 3 sectional titles; Nick Bodle, CJ Fisher, Grant Jablonski, Sam Rajski, and Sam Shively.

Lost to Hamilton Southeastern 4-2 in Semi-State. (HSE won 4A state title with win over Columbus East 3-2.)

Grant Jablonski ties Eric Good (1995-1998) Career Win Record of 20 wins. Tied record by defeated Northridge in a 7-0 complete game victory over Northridge on June 1, 2019.
Nick Bodle ties Career RBI record #67 with Brandon Armstrong and Billy Banks. Drove in tying RBI against Michigan City in Sectionals. Drove in #68 against Hamilton Southeastern in Semi-State.
Derrick Dawson breaks Career RBI Record after Nick Bodle ties the record by driving in 2 runs against Northridge in regional. The tying RBI was a solo home run. Breaks record with RBI #69 against Lake Central in Regional Championship on June 3, 2019.
Ryan Watt breaks school Single Season Saves Record with 9 and giving him a career record of 14. This places him tied for 7th all time in the state for most saves in a season and places him tied for 3rd all time for career saves.
