Cavemen News · CJ Fisher Honored by the National Football Foundation

Mishawaka graduate CJ Fisher was recently honored by the National Football Foundation as a member of the 2019 NFF Team of Distinction!  From 3,500 scholar-athletes, Fisher was one of only 82 selected for this prestigious honor.  “Yeah, I got a tweet that out of all the kids who won awards like the Moose Krause Award they picked 80+ kids out of that.  And I’m on that.  That’s awesome,” Said Fisher.

A 3 sport star in baseball, basketball and football, Fisher was one of the valedictorians at Mishawaka.  He’ll continue his academic career at Mississippi State.  “I’m looking forward to figuring out what I want to study,” said Fisher.  “I think it’s going to be awesome to figure out my passion.  School’s been a very important part of my time here.  More important than sports.  I’ve had fun doing both.  I’ve always found it pretty easy to balance the two.”  He said the experience at Mishawaka High School has been first rate.  “Mishawaka is a special place because the majority of our coaches are teachers so you get to spend double the time with them.   You get to build relationships and learn stories about them that you probably wouldn’t at other places, and that’s special.”
