Cavemen News · Mishawaka Baseball Succeeds Unselfishly Together

The 25-6 Mishawaka baseball program went all in at the beginning of the season.  They had a roster full of players who wanted to be part of something special.  The coaches talked and decided to keep 14 seniors, even though they knew there could be complaints about playing time and who was going to get the credit.  They met with all of the players and told them they wouldn’t have kept them if they didn’t have an important role on the team.  From chasing foul balls, to being the bullpen catcher, to cheering on their teammates, these Cavemen have bought in.  The result, their 3rd Sectional Championship in 4 years, their first Regional Championship in 22 seasons, and a chance to play Hamilton Southeastern this Saturday at 4 pm in the Semi-state….. Indiana high school baseball’s version of the Final 4.   The winner will have the chance to play either Columbus East or Avon in the 4A State Championship game at Victory Field in Indianapolis.

You can hear Saturday’s game on 96.1 FM or watch on YouTube via the Mishawaka Network.
