The Mishawaka Baseball team has advanced to the Regional Championship game for the 2nd straight year. The Cavemen knocked off Northridge 7-0 in the afternoon game at LaPorte 7-0. They took their 24-6 record and 14 seniors into the championship that night, but lightning struck in the top of the first and the game with 24-6 Lake Central was postponed until Monday night. The Indians had beaten #1 Crown Point 8-0 Saturday. Cavemen Coach John Huemmer said, “I told our kids. We don’t want this journey to end. We want to go all the way to Victory Field.”
Game time at Schreiber Field in LaPorte is 7 pm Mishawaka Time or 6 pm CT. The Cavemen are the home team and fans are asked to sit above the team dugout on the first base side. Tickets for the Championship game are $7. If you can’t be there in person, you can hear the game on 96.1 FM or watch on YouTube with the Mishawaka Network.
