Mishawaka Partners with Under Armour

MISHAWAKA – Mishawaka Schools, BSN Sports, and Under Armour, Inc. announced a new 5-year partnership agreement starting July 1, 2019. The move was approved by the school board Wednesday night. All future uniform purchases will go through BSN and Under Armour. The agreement comes with a number of financial incentives. “This is an exciting deal, not only for sports teams but for fine arts, academic teams, and all Cavemen fans,” said Mishawaka Director of Athletics Dean Huppert. “Partnering with Under Armour strengthens our brand and provides the excellence that we’re always striving for. We don’t share our Mishawaka “M” with just anyone. UA has great quality, and our kids and fans want to wear what the pros wear.”
Mishawaka will use Under Armour and BSN for spirit wear items and souvenirs. A “Sideline Store” will be available for fans to make online purchases. Everything will be sent directly to their homes. The store will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. For every item purchased, 10% of that sale will be given back to Mishawaka. Senior 3-Sport athlete CJ Fisher sees this as a positive move for the entire school. “It’s important to have an identity. If everybody is wearing thesame thing, you get a sense of unity. And certainly, it’s exciting. You don’t want to admit it, but when you get a big brand name and you get to wear it as your team stuff. It’s cool.”
Mishawaka Choral Director Matt Brown said, “What we wear matters. Even in music when it’s about sound, we want to have that professional look.” Cavemen Head Basketball Coach Ron Hecklinski said, “It’s first class. And when you look at it and say, we wear the same stuff Notre Dame wears. That is the truth. We wear the same stuff Notre Dame wears.”
Mishawaka Head Football Coach Keith Kinder and his team will be buying Under Armour the next time they purchase uniforms. “I think our kids will be excited when they start to see the products and the apparel that they are going to wear. And I think it’s something that is going to be welcomed throughout the community. From top to bottom, I think it’s going to be a really positive experience for our corporation.”
