Cavemen News · Mishawaka Coach Keith Kinder Talks About Showdown with Marian (Video Story)

Friday Night will be one of the biggest in years at Steele Stadium.  Not only is it “Senior Night” for the Cheerleaders and Football team.  But Mishawaka will dedicate the new track, Steele Stadium as well as the Irions Strength and Conditioning Center.  Tom Irions, the man who made it possible to build the “Irions Strength and Conditioning Center” will be on hand for a special halftime presentation, as well as many former track members who will be able to see the new 8 lane track.

“This is a night to celebrate all of the amazing things happening at Mishawaka”, said Director of Athletics Dean Huppert.  “We’re so proud of our football stadium and the tradition, and it’s incredible to add these new modern pieces with the 8 lane track, the Irions Strength and Conditioning Center, as well as the 24 foot video board.  Fans will definitely want to get here early as there will be special videos and tributes and give aways that will make it a memorable night for all Cavemen”.

The football game will feature 6-1 Mishawaka against 4-3 Marian.  It’s an NIC game, but it’s not a divisional game.  The Cavemen finish up the season October 12th in the NIC North Conference Championship game.  “We haven’t talked at all about next week’s game”, said Mishawaka Coach Keith Kinder.  “We’re telling our kids that this game (vs Marian) is the City Championship.”

Gates open at 5:30.  Kickoff is just after 7:00 Friday night.  The game can be heard on WSBT 96.1 FM and seen on YouTube.  Search “Mishawaka Network” and you can watch Mishawaka vs Marian wherever you are anywhere in the world.
